Britney Spears: A new album will come with time

Britney Spears swears that a new album will come together “slowly, but surely”.

It has been two years since Spears released her most recent album, Britney Jean. Fans are craving more tunes from the “Toxic” singer. She teamed up recently with Iggy Azalea on a duet that will be released soon though there is not a release date yet. There are other tunes she is working on. Just don't expect any new music to immediately follow or an album to come out right away.

The pop diva is busy at work in Las Vegas having done over 100 shows at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas since her last studio album that included the hit, “Perfume”. Don’t forget she is busy with her other job of motherhood which seems to be the reason behind the “slow, but surely” comment.

Spears will grace the cover of BIllboard and be the cover story, in stores Friday. “I’m gonna do [a new album] slowly, but surely,” Spears tells Billboard.

Why do you ask? The “Piece of Me” performer is selling out shows in Vegas. Spears' performances have earned her more than $42 million in ticket sales. Plus mothering her two sons, Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8, doesn’t leave much time in the day. "There's a lot going on with my kids and schools and, you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I'm gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album, but it's not my full priority right now," stated Spears. She goes on to tell Billboard that, “kids can drive you crazy.”

The talented Britney Jean tweeted the announcement of her cover story due out Friday.

Spears is committed to her “Piece of Me” residency through the end of 2015.
