Brooks Ayers of 'Real Housewives of Orange County' not responding well to chemotherapy

Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, has been responsible for a decent amount of drama during his time on the Real Housewives of Orange County. However, those around him have been supportive throughout his battle with cancer.

Ayers was diagnosed with non-hodgkin lymphoma, stage 3. And unfortunately, the chemotherapy treatments he’s been undergoing are not being effective towards the disease.
“When the test results came back, the numbers haven’t changed substantially,” he said. “They haven’t gotten worse, but they haven’t gotten better. That was kind of disheartening, to be honest with you.” Ayers told RealityTea that he has 3 options: more aggressive chemo, a stem cell transplant or a holistic approach that was suggested by fellow OC housewife, Shannon Beador.

During her first season on the show last year, Beador was very open about her belief in holistic medicine and she actively practices it. “Shannon Beador’s been very much in our corner and putting us in contact with a lot of unbelievable world-renowned holistic physicians based here in Irvine ” Ayers says.

However, Gunvalson’s boyfriend did say that none of the procedures bring along guarantees. However, he does know that his girlfriend will be by his side despite her family’s dislike for their relationship. The relationship, or lack thereof, between Ayers and Briana, Gunvalson’s daughter, has been put on display for a number of seasons now. She is very vocal about her feelings towards the man her mother is dating.

Ayers confirmed he will be featured on the upcoming season of RHOC. “At the end of the day, we want to show that you don’t have to lay down and let this disease or the normal course of what we think cancer can do take you down.”

Wishing you the best, Brooks.
