Actor Jim Parsons, NBA player Chris Bosh and actress Jessica Chastain are all celebrating their birthdays today, March 24.
Jim Parsons, 42
Actor Jim Parsons turns 42 today. Parsons started his career in Off-Broadway productions and had a few television roles in Judging Amy and Ed. He also had a couple of minor roles in the films Garden State and School for Scoundrels.
Parsons gained recognition with his role as Sheldon Cooper on the hit CBS comedy series The Big Bang Theory. In 2009, he won the Television Critics Association award and earned Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 (winning in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014). Parsons also won the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television Series – Comedy in 2011.
Apart from Big Bang, Parsons continued to work in film and theater. He appeared in The Big Year alongside Jack Black, Owen Wilson, Steve Martin and Rashida Jones in 2011. That same year, he made an appearance in The Muppets. In 2012, he starred in the Broadway revival of Harvey. He starred in both the HBO film (2014) and theater production (2011) of The Normal Heart.
Parsons provided his voice for the role of a banished Boov named Oh in the upcoming DreamWorks animated film, Home, in theaters Friday, March 27. Parsons will also star in the upcoming Broadway production, An Act Of God, with previews beginning in May.

Chris Bosh, 31
NBA player Chris Bosh turns 31 today. Bosh played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and studied graphic design, computer imaging and management. However, after a successful college career, Bosh left after his freshman year to join the NBA draft.
Bosh was selected fourth overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 2003 NBA Draft. Although playing out of his normal position of a Power forward and into a Center, he set a franchise record for most rebounds in a rookie season. He was selected for the All-Rookie First Team for the 2003–04 season. Bosh was selected to play in the 2006 NBA All-Star Game, making him the third Raptor to be selected for an All-Star game. In the 2006-07 season, Bosh led the Toronto to their first NBA Playoffs in five years.
In 2010, Bosh officially completed a sign-and-trade deal with the Miami Heat along with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. After a rough start, Bosh would eventually help lead the Miami Heat to their second straight NBA Finals where they faced off against and defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, earning Bosh his first ever NBA title. They went on to with their second NBA title against the San Antonio Spurs the very next year.
In the 2014-15 season, Bosh went on to play in the 2015 All-Star Game, however, he was ruled out for the rest of the season after a blood clot was found on one of his lungs.

Jessica Chastain, 38
Actress Jessica Chastain turns 38 today. Chastain started her career with minor roles in numerous television shows including ER, Veronica Mars and Journeyman. She later made her film debut in the 2008 film Jolene. She went on to star in the films Take Shelter, The Tree of Life and The Help. She earned nominations for the Golden Globe, SAG, BAFTA, Critics' Choice and Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in The Help.
Chastain also had a successful theater career, starring in The Cherry Orchard, Salome, Othello and the Broadway production The Heiress.
Chastain gained worldwide attention for her role in Zero Dark Thirty. She earned the Critics' Choice and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress as well as an Academy Award nomination. In 2013, she starred in the supernatural horror-fantasy film Mama and went on to star in Miss Julie, Interstellar and A Most Violent Year (receiving Golden Globe and Critics' Choice award nominations).
Chastain is scheduled to star in Crimson Peak alongside Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam which is scheduled to be released in October 2015.
