Kirra releases debut album 'Run Away'

Hard hitting rock 'n' roll is back when the debut release from Kirra, Run Away. When first listening to Run Away it sounds as though these are season musicians really exploring their hard rock 'n' roll roots but it turns out that Kirra consists of a group of up and coming musicians who even at a young age, have an incredible talent range that is showcased on this album.

Kirra is made up of, Jesse Williamson on lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Daxton Page, lead guitar, Ryne McNeill, bass and backing vocals, along Zach Stafford rounding out the group on the drums. The band was formed after Page left a rock program at his school with the desire to form a band. That natural feeling that comes when young musicians come together and form a band can be felt on this album. They have a young passion and energy that can be felt on every track.

These musicians are originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was more in the western side of the country that grunge and hard hitting rock really started to form and Kirra might have taken some musical influences from this musical origin.

Run Away opens with the single, "Tappy Gilmore," which is up front with their musical sound. This is a band that wants to play gritty and hard hitting rock 'n' roll music, no fluff needed. Page really shines with his vocal range and how he delivers every lyric. He sounds like a veteran singer that knows how to not only work a crowd with his delivery but keep the album's musical momentum moving forward. The other band members really create a sound around how gritty and dark Page's vocals delivery.

The album does feel like a strong introduction from Kirra and leaves fans wanting to check out more from the rock band. The rock 'n' roll industry needs these kind of new bands and up and coming musicians to keep the genre moving forward and connecting with new fans.

Stand out tracks on the album include, "Should've Been Gone," "Stay" and "Downfall."
