'Scream Queens': Joe Manganiello out, Oliver Hudson in

Oliver Hudson (Nashville) will be making the girls of Ryan Murphy’s Scream Queens swoon or shriek.

It appears that Deadline has confirmed that Hudson will be replacing Joe Manganiello (True Blood) who was originally slated for a role on the upcoming Fox series.

Manganiello had to pull out because he will be overseas enduring a hectic schedule promoting Magic Mike XXL. The casting of Hudson will not hinder Hudson’s current role on Nashville though he has a contract for just a year with the ABC show.

Just two days ago, Nasim Pedrad was cast alongside the star-studded cast which already includes Skylar Samuels (Nine Lives of Chloe King), Nick Jonas ( Smash, Kingdom), newcomer Billie Lourd, Lea Michele (Glee), Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, True Lies) and Keke Palmer (Masters of Sex) who are series regulars. Ariana Grande is set to guest star.

The first season of Scream Queens is set to air in the fall, which is a story about a series of murders around a school campus. Details about Hudson’s role are being kept under wraps though there is speculation that he would be portraying a hot dad.
