For the Seattle Seahawks and their fans, Super Bowl XLIX was one that will sting for a while. Not giving stud running back Marshawn Lynch the ball at the end of the game will remain a mystery until the end of time.
For a while, fans were thinking they would never see Lynch again as he frequently spoke about retirement this offseason. However, Friday brings incredible news to the "12th Man."
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Lynch and the Seahawks have agreed to a one-year deal. John Clayton of ESPN has since come over the top with some financial details - one year for $11 million, with $10 million of it coming guaranteed ($9 million signing bonus and $1 million roster bonus).
Head coach Pete Carrol and quarterback Russell Wilson can take comfort in the fact that they'll have the heart and soul of Seattle's offense back in 2015.
Lynch displayed his usual beastly ways a season ago. He compiled 1,306 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 280 carries (4.7 yards per carry).
Update
After a one-year deal was speculated the day prior, Lynch and the Seahawks have officially agreed to a two-year contract. In 2015 he is now scheduled to make $12 million.
Spotted on plane on way to SEA, Marshawn Lynch has decided to return to NFL; he and Seattle have reached agreement on new deal, per source.
