Taco Bell has decided to get rid of their waffle taco in favor of trying out the new biscuit taco.
According to the Associated Press, Taco Bell is attempting to campaign their new product by going over rival company McDonald’s and saying their Egg McMuffins are now the boring option, where as they could go for a chicken taco wrapped in a biscuit for breakfast.
A representative for the company reportedly said the taco is “more than just a biscuit, it’s a warm, fluffy, buttery biscuit, folded in the shape of a taco” with fillings that include eggs, cheese, and sausage along with their deep-fried chicken with an option of jalapeno honey sauce.
Their waffle taco, which was rolled out last year, didn’t do so well as a popular food item menu. Taco Bell’s most popular breakfast item is a Crunchwrap, which includes a grilled tortilla with fillings included things such as eggs, bacon, hashbrown, or steak.
The Christian Science Monitor reported that the new breakfast taco will be available on March 26. Taco Bell even tweeted a teaser about the new item, along with a promotional ad campaign video that shows breakfast “defectors” in an effort to make their newest food item sound more appealing.
