It was a beautiful day for golfing for a great cause are thoughts celebrities had the day of the 3rd Annual Matthew Silverman Memorial Golf Classic.
Celebrities like Chord Overstreet and Cris Judd participated in an event that helps to save lives. MattsFoundation.org is a non-profit organization that is in its third year. On the website Ron Silverman states, “Over three years ago, when I first embarked on planning our inaugural golf event, my hope was to create an exceptional experience and at the same time raise a significant sum for charities engaged in combating the unspeakable tragedy of teen suicide.”
In January of 2006, Ron’s son Matthew tragically took his own life. Ron did not want his death to be looked upon as just a negative situation because many teens take their own lives permanently ending their lives when they were experiencing a temporary situation. He decided that he wanted to help other teens not take their own lives. The Matthew Silverman Foundation was born around three years ago and each year there is a golfing event where the golfers donate to the foundation to help fight the combat of tragic epidemic of teen suicide. On the site you can find out their mission, the reason behind why they exist and how they came about, who committee members are, Matt’s heroes and there is a spot to donate. You have the chance to take part of the golf classic sponsorship program where you pay a lump sum of a donation to the cause in exchange for 16-playing spots and other great items in the package. By becoming a sponsor you help battle teen suicide and you get your name listed on the TEEN LINE website.
Both Overstreet and Judd spoke of their day on social media.
