Celebrity Birthdays, April 30: 'The Big Bang Theory' stars Johnny Galecki and Kunal Nayyar

Big Bang Theory actors Johnny Galecki and Kunal Nayyar are celebrating their birthdays today, April 30.

Johnny Galecki, 40

Actor Johnny Galecki turns 40 today. Galecki made his acting debut in the CBS miniseries Murder Ordained in 1987. He later went on to play Rusty Griswold in the films National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, I Know What You Did Last Summer and The Opposite of Sex.

Galecki gained fame with his role as David Healy in the hot comedy series Roseanne. He continued to appear in films including Suicide Kings, Bean, Vanilla Sky and Bookies. He also made numerous television appearances on My Name Is Earl, My Boys and Hope & Faith.

Galecki transitioned into theater acting with a role in the Broadway production of The Little Dog Laughed. He earned a Theater World Award for his performance in 2007. He continued to do work in film, making appearances in Hancock, In Time and CBGB.

Galecki gained worldwide fame with his role as Leonard Hofstadter in the CBS comedy series The Big Bang Theory. In 2012, He earned a Satellite Award for Best Actor in a Series, Comedy or Musical in 2012 for his role.

Kunal Neyyer, 34

British-Indian actor and writer Kunal Nayyar turns 34 today. Nayyar earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from the University of Portland in Oregon. There, he acted in a few plays and took acting classes. He went on to attended Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he received a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and decided to pursue his acting career.

Nayyar started acting in numerous television ads and in theater productions of Huck & Holden, winning the Garland Award in 2006 for Best Male Lead in a Play on the West Coast. He later co-wrote the play Cotton Candy.

Nayyar transitioned into television with a guest appearance on the CBS drama NCIS. In 2012, he voiced Gupta in Ice Age: Continental Drift. In 2014, he made his film debut in the romantic comedy Dr. Cabbie which received positive reviews after it premiered in New Delhi

Nayyar gained recognition for his current role as Raj Koothrappali in the CBS comedy series The big Bang Theory.
