Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson shares relatable video about modern body image
Sadie Robertson, who turns 18 in June, released a self-recorded seven-minute video addressing the Instagram trending “#goals.” Sporting the natural no makeup look, she not only encourages others, specifically females, to create positive self-images and live original, but reveals truths about her own body and appearance struggles.
“I struggle with jealousy, and I struggle with comparing myself to other people,” Sadie disclosed. “I struggle with worry, and I’m really hard on myself.”
Even though the famous Duck Dynasty daughter struggles, she pushes to break through those inner battles by preaching about confidence and the realities of her life.
“I’m just like any other girl. I look in the mirror and I pick out the flaw,” she said.
Seen dressed modestly on Dancing With The Stars, Sadie continues to pursue a healthy, Christ-honoring body image. As said in the now viral video, this teen looks to God to satisfy her goals and confide in with her personal issues.
“If you want to have goals that’s great, but my point is don’t look at somebody and say ‘that’s what I want to be,’” she said in her mini-sermon. “Because in reality if your seeking self-approval or human approval, you’re never going to reach your goal. You can only reach it by God.”
She ends the segment with reaching out to the viewers, allowing comments and questions because even though she’s viewed as a celebrity to American society, Sadie uncovers that she’s just like everyone else.
This powerful video that was released in March, goes hand-in-hand with the Duck Dynasty star’s book “Live Original” and her line of prom dresses titled “Sadie Robertson Live Original by Sherri Hill.” These dresses are more modest than the average prom attire, yet still fashionable. They even hit the runway at the New York Fashion Week of 2013, ChristianToday confirmed. Sherri Hill has worked with several celebrities for their red carpet looks including Miranda Lambert, Paris Hilton, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Carrie Underwood, Bella Thorne, Arianna Grande, and Selena Gomez, according to Sherri Hill. The renowned designer’s Sadie Robertson inspired dresses are now available in stores located all across the United States, promoting beauty and originality through modesty.
