Hillary Clinton gears up for 2016 President candidacy run. Former Secretary of State, confirmed the launch of her campaign Sunday.
She will be opting for the Democratic nomination for 2016 Presidency. She announced that she was running via a video released on her campaign site.
She stated in the video, as well as, on Twitter, “I’m running for President. Everyday Americans need a champion and I want to be that champion.”
There is a bunch of video footage of individuals conversing about their plans for 2015 before Clinton appears. The footage lasts 90 seconds before her appearance.
Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, sent an email to supporters Sunday afternoon telling them that Clinton was running. Podesta announced there will be a formal kickoff event next month.
Clinton teased the world two days ago that the announcement would come Sunday on social media and the video was dropped with her announcement as talked about.
Aside from once being the First Lady back when Bill Clinton was President, she gained more popularity and made history by becoming the first woman to win the presidential primary races in 2008. She accumulated about 18 million votes and suspended her campaign in June of the same year and urged voters to vote for current President Barack Obama. After he was elected, Obama nominated Clinton to be secretary of state, a role she held for the full amount of his first term.
Clinton speaks of the decision in her video, “"So I'm hitting the road to earn your vote. Because it's your time and I hope you'll join me on this journey."
