Known as the author of The Fault in Our Stars, John Green’s writing has gotten him, yet another upcoming slot in theaters. On Monday, April 6, Green joined MTV early that afternoon to answer questions of readers, fans, and about the highly anticipated movie in general.
Paper Towns, set to hit theaters this summer, has a mystery plot involving a a missing neighbor girl, Margo Roth Spiegelman, played by Cara Delevingne and her love interest Quentin Jacobsen, Nat Wolff, who takes a road trip to find her with clues left behind.
The live-stream session of Q & A resulted several solid take away points about Green himself, his experience with actors in his movies, and how the film will depict parts of the novel, MTV revealed.
As seen from his friendship with Shailene Woodley, Green forms long-lasting relationships with the cast members. “For me, Shai is just a forever person,” he said about the actress who will receive the Trailblazer Award this Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards. He also talked of Nat Wolff. “How wonderful was it to spend time with Nat Wolff? SO WONDERFUL! It’s impossible to express my love for Nat Wolff,” he said.
Green’s feelings are totally understandable; these actors bring his characters and imagination to life. One of those actors, Justice Smith who plays Radar, notably has the most sass in the upcoming film. He poked fun at Green with the following Tweet during the Periscope:
@MTV @PaperTownsMovie @johngreen how was radar? heard he was a cool guy. He's my favorite. #JohnGreenMTV

Among other fun facts revealed during the MTV provided session include Green’s misogynistic views of women during high school, which he admitted were unhealthy, and his excitement towards attending the upcoming MTV Movie awards, airing Sunday at 8 p.m.
“Middle aged dudes don’t get to dress up with their awesome spouses and go to these parties very often, so I’m super psyched,” he said concerning the exclusive event.
Green also reassured fans that the part of the novel requiring a record-breaking amount of black Santa’s will appear in the film just as it reads in the book. He also talked about what meant the most to him with his story coming to life. “All the stuff that takes place in the minivan is pretty magical to me,” the author said referring to his favorite scene.
Named New York Times best seller and Author of the Year in 2014 by USA Today, Green continues to please fans. Paper Towns will hit theaters July 24 with high anticipation due to the success of The Fault in Our Stars.
