Kelly Clarkson opened up in an interview with Redbook in which she discussed the comments people make about her weight, as well as making time for husband Brandon Blackstock while raising her 10-month-old daughter, River.
According to People, Clarkson, who is on the cover of the May 2015 issue along with her daughter, said that when it came to the couple’s sex life, she had always made sure they would never have to be the couple who would schedule time to have sex. She said in her interview, “That is never going to happen.”
Clarkson and her husband make sure they take care of themselves above all and she didn’t describe themselves as being each other’s other half. The 32-year-old former American Idol winner said, “He’s a whole and I’m a whole.” She knows that it is important to take care of herself since she didn’t have the stability that most families had growing up.
In addition to discussing her marriage with Redbook, Clarkson addressed the criticism over her weight. She said, “I don’t obsess about my weight, which is probably one of the reasons why other people have such a problem with it.”
She also talked about how she doesn’t have the best metabolism like most do, but she did describe herself as making friends easily.
The issue of Redbook with Clarkson will be available April 21.
