Trailer for Amy Winehouse documentary focuses on her beginnings (Video)

The rights to Asif Kapadia's Amy Winehouse documentary has been purchased for U.S. distributions and now a teaser trailer has hit the web. The documentary tells the story of Winehouse who died at the age of 27 as a result of a drug overdose.

Entertainment Weekly reported that in the background of the teaser, a rare version of "Back to Black" can be heard playing and Winehouse is seen at a young age and shows her progression with music. She explains that she really just wanted to be a musician and write music that explained how she felt.

The trailer cuts to an interview in which Winehouse was asked "How big do you think you’re going to be?" she responds by saying, "I don’t. I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle. I would probably go mad, you know what I mean? I would go mad.”

The current release plan for the film will be in July, which will coincide with the fourth anniversary of Winehouse’s death.
