An Air France flight traveling from Paris was taken to John F. Kennedy Airport after an anonymous threat came in against the plane.
According to WABC, the threat came on Monday morning and authorities in the United States made sure to get fighter jets scrambled in the air when the flight did not respond to the government when they asked for more information.
The call came in to the Maryland State Fusion Center at around 6:45 am and a man said the flight had a “chemical weapons threat.” The caller also made the claim there were devices on four of the flights, but nothing was found when security checks were done.
The Guardian reported that the threat was not deemed credible and when the flight was searched, there were no weapons found. When the flight landed, it was taken to a secure area between two terminals so authorities could conduct a search.
The anonymous caller used a number that was unable to be traced and he did not identify himself when he called.
