Anna Kendrick and James Corden engage in riff-off on 'Late Late Show' (Video)

With the world of late night television changing in front of our very eyes, James Corden of the Late Late Show couldn't help but engage in progressing the new late night movement.

The all important reason he couldn't help himself, was due to the fact Anna Kendrick surprised him with a most legitimate challenge: a riff-off.

A riff-off has been made most popular by the smash hit Pitch Perfect from 2012, and is now ripping up the box-office across the world with its sequel. Kendrick, of course, is one of the stars of the movie, now out in theaters, which has already amassed $28 million and is on schedule to do around $62 million during its initial weekend.

Not too shabby for three-days work.

On the Late Late Show, Kendrick appeared out of nowhere to say this to Corden: "I heard you've been telling people that you're the best acapella singer in town," Kendrick says, before challenging the host to a riff-off. "I think this audience wants to see me kick your ass."

Of course, her words were a precursor to audience applause.

As far as the actual riff-off was concerned, well, we'll let you be the judge of that.
