Beyoncé and Jay Z reportedly donated money to bail out the protestors of Baltimore and Ferguson

Beyoncé and Jay Z may have done the ultimate act of kindness. The couple reportedly donated money to bail out protesters in Baltimore and Ferguson.

The Guardian reported that Dream Hampton, an activist and filmmaker who worked with Jay Z on his 2010 autobiography ‘Decoded’, claims that the famous pair contributed “tens of thousands” of dollars to free the protestors who were unable to pay their bails after being arrested in the police brutality demonstrations in Baltimore and Ferguson.

Hampton took to Twitter early Sunday morning to make her announcement. In her series of tweets, Hampton explained that Jay Z and Beyoncé helped provide bail money for several protestors and the impact the money had.

“I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad,” she wrote, “When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I asked hit Jay up [sic], as I had for Ferguson, wired tens of thousands in mins.”

“When [Black Lives Matter] needed infrastructure money for the many chapters that we’re growing like beautiful dandelions, Carters wrote a huge check,” she said in another tweet.

Though the tweets have been deleted, the hip-hop magazine Complex has obtained images of them.

“They gave cuz that’s what they do,” Hampton said.

Details such as the specific dates and names of the people the money was to have not been released. Mr. and Mrs. Carter have not yet confirmed Hampton’s claims.
