Actor Dwayne Johnson and retired soccer player David Beckham are celebrating their birthdays today, May 2.
Dwayne Johnson, 43
Actor and retired professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson turns 43 today. After a college football career for the University of Miami, Johnson followed his his grandfather and father and went into professional wrestling. He gained fame as "The Rock" in the World Wrestling Federation from 1996 to 2004. After a hiatus, he returned part-time to World Wrestling Entertainment from 2011 to 2013.
Johnson transitioned into acting, making his film debut as the Scorpion King in the 2001 fil The Mummy Returns. The film's success landed him the lead role in The Scorpion King in 2002. Johnson went on to star in The Rundown, Walking Tall, Gridiron Gang, The Game Plan and Get Smart.
Johnson starred as Luke Hobbs in the fifth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast Five. He reprised his role for Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7. He also starred in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Hercules.
Johnson also made a few television appearances in shows including That '70s Show, Star Trek: Voyager, Corey in the House, Hannah Montana, Family Guy and Lip Sync Battle.
Johnson will star in the upcoming action-adventure thriller disaster film San Andreas and the action comedy Central Intelligence alongside Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Amy Ryan, Danielle Nicolet and Bobby Brown. Johnson has a daughter with his former wife, Dany Garcia.

David Beckham, 40
Retired professional footballer, businessman and model David Beckham turns 40 today. Throughout his career, Beckham has played for teams like Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, Los Angeles Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team. He was runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year twice, and in 2004 he was named one of the Top 125 greatest living footballers by FIFA's 100th anniversary celebration. In 2004 he was the world's highest-paid footballer.
Beckham made 115 career appearances in total, appearing at three FIFA World Cup tournaments in 1998, 2002 and 2006 and two UEFA European Championship tournaments in 2000 and 2004. Beckham announced his retirement in 2013 and was made captain in his final home game against Brest.
In February 2014, Major League Soccer announced that Beckham and a group of investors, would own an expansion team in Miami. A stadium has yet to be built due to location difficulties, but is expected to be completed in 2018, meaning the team would have to play at temporary stadiums for the time being.
Beckham is currently married to former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, and has four children. Their three sons all play football in the Arsenal Academy. Brooklyn and Romeo have also had modeling work.
