Dave Grohl is no stranger to fame from his days of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters but it turns out that even in his childhood, Grohl had a rock star sensibility about him.
The Huffington Post reported that a fan letter that Grohl wrote to his idol, Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi) has surfaced. The letter was simple and to the point, he simply asked for contacts in the music industry and complimented MacKaye's guitar playing.
The "Best of You" singer even included the best times to reach him and his direct contact information. Grohl was only 14 when he wrote the letter.
The letter hitReddit and fans wanted to know how MacKaye had responded. Turns out that MacKaye not only answered many fan letters but would spend time with them before and after shows and even granted someone an interview for a college research paper.
Grohl worked with his idol on the band's documentary Sonic Highways, which aired on HBO. The band interviewed MacKaye in Washington, D.C., NME added.
