Jared Padalecki cancels appearances, tweets followers asking for help

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki had fans worried and concerned when he cancelled two appearances after making cryptic tweets asking for their support.

On Friday, Padalecki made a post on his Twitter account telling fans, “Dear #JIBCON and #AHBL6. I am in desperate and urgent need of my family. I am so sorry to tell you this but I must head home.”

The actor, who has suffered from depression, also tweeted asking his followers to write to him and used the hashtag #AlwaysKeepFighting. Fans immediately responded with messages of love and support to him on social media accounts.

Padalecki recently teamed up with nonprofit organization To Write Love On Her Arms in a t-shirt campaign that includes his photo on a t-shirt with the words “Always Keep Fighting.” His co-star and on-screen brother Jensen Ackles tweeted his support to his close friend.

In an interview with Variety, Padalecki opened up about battling his own depression, describing an on-set incident when he broke down in his trailer.
