Natalie Portman talks her decision to act in ‘Black Swan’

This month, thousands of college students graduated across the nation including the Harvard University class of 2015. But who was their guest speaker at commencement?

According to Fox News, Harvard alumni, class of 2003, and Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman was the special guest who delivered the commencement speech to the lucky graduates.

She gave a heartfelt speech telling students that they should use their inexperience to further their careers – just as she did when she took the role of Nina Sayers in the 2010 film that got her an Academy Award.

The actress said that she might not have been able to pull off the role if she knew how intensive the ballet techniques would be. She said she was “woefully unprepared.”

“The point is, if I had known my own limitations, I never would have taken the risk," she said. "And the risk led to one of my greatest personal and professional achievements."

Portman also used her experience at Harvard along with filming Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menance to give the students some advice that they should find helpful as they move forward in their lives.
