States along the Great Plains were on high alert after severe weather brought the possibility of tornadoes and large hail. A few states are still under tornado watch after experiencing tornadoes along the Plains.
According to the Associated Press, the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center said the thunderstorms would likely hit the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Kensas, and Nebraska. Last weekend, there was also severe weather that led to some tornadoes and flooding and four people died.
NBC News reported that from Texas to Minnesota, there were a total number of around 19 tornadoes Saturday night, although there have been no reports of any casualties.
Many homes have been damaged and power lines were also taken down. The weather also prevented high school students from enjoying their prom in Tecumseh, OK. Sunday morning, areas in Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma were still under tornado watch.
The Weather Channel has been keeping an eye on the storm and reported that early Sunday morning, around 80 train cars in Iowa had been knocked over.
