Friends honor Diem Brown on 35th birthday

MTV stars and friends took to social media to honor their friend and co-star, Diem Brown, on June 12. This would have been her 35th birthday.

The MTV reality star passed away at age 34 in 2014.

Besides posting birthday wishes, alums of Real World and The Challenge honored the TV personality by encouraging followers to contribute to her charity, MedGift. Before Brown passed in November of 2014, she founded the charity to help support patients dealing with cancer and other chronic illnesses.

According to US Weekly, the MTV reality star battled multiple forms of cancers over many years. She detailed her first battle on the 12th season of Real World/Road Rules Challenge in 2006. Brown then faced cancer for a second time in 2012 and went into remission in 2013. She was diagnosed for the final time in 2014.

On both Twitter and Instagram, friends, fans, family, and co-stars are using #DiemStrong to remember and honor the late Brown for her birthday.
