A woman who was born without limbs not only became a pilot, but she also obtained a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
According to the Huffington Post UK, Jessica Cox was born without arms, but it has not stopped her from becoming the first female to learn how to fly only using her feet. Afterwards, she would become the first black belt recipient in the American Tae Kwon Do Association who did not have arms.
Cox and her husband, Patrick Chamberlain, are planning on publically talking about her inspiring story. As a young child, she did wear prosthetics, but decided to stop wearing them when she was 14-years-old.
She is able to lead a fulfilling life by driving a vehicle that has not been modified and she is also capable of typing on a computer keyboard. She said that when people noticed she was armless, they “saw me as not having arms as a limiting factor- but I was there to prove them wrong.”
Since the age of three, Cox has reportedly been active, from being involved in gymnastics, swimming, and tap dancing. Daily Mail reported she was put in the Guinness World Record in 2008 for her ability to pilot a plane with her feet.
Cox has a documentary out about her life called Rightfooted, which won for Best Documentary at the Vatican Film Festival. You can learn more about Cox on her website.
