New Sony e-mails that were leaked focus on Spider-Man and the legal agreement that detailed the instructions for both his race and sexual orientation.
Variety reported that there is a legal licensing agreement between both Marvel and Sony that states Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s alter ego, must be Caucasian, and that he must also be heterosexual.
The agreement for the Spider-Man character reportedly went ahead back in September 2011 and it had a list of “mandatory” traits for the superhero and his alter-ego. One of those says that Spider-Man is “not a homosexual (unless Marvel has portrayed that alter ego as a homosexual).”
Gawker reported that other traits for Spider-Man included that he would not use torture, he would not kill for any reason other than defense of himself or someone else, no foul language, and he would not take part in underage sex.
Earlier this week, more documents pertaining to the Sony leak were released by the website WikiLeaks.
The documents included expense reporters, calendars for travel, and contact lists. Actress Emma Stone, who was in the Amazing Spider-Man movies, even went so far as to delete six years worth of e-mails as a result of the hacks.
