Who do we have to thank for this wonderful surprise? Uzo Adubo! According to THR, the actress, who plays Crazy Eyes on the show, asked the head of Netflix, Reed Hastings, to release season three on Thursday during the OrangeCon event in New York.

OrangeCon is held by Netflix and specifically for fans of Orange Is The New Black. The event features autograph signings and exclusive panel discussions with the cast and creators, as noted by Variety. Cast members like Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Laverne Cox, Taryn Manning, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Brooks, Samira Riley, Kate Mulgrew and Lorraine Touissant were in attendance, plus many more.

This new season welcomes new inmates Lolly, played by Lori Petty, and Stella, played by Ruby Rose, along with a familiar face, Alex, played by Laura Prepon. We can’t wait to see what kind of drama unfolds at Litchfield this year.
