While there have been a few short trailers for 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky’s upcoming The Peanuts Movie, these have all been previews to prove to us that Charles M. Schulz’s beloved characters can exist in a CG realm. If you need more evidence that this movie is going to work out, today’s nearly three-minute trailer will do the job.
The new trailer shows off the beautiful animation, which somehow still retains the 2D flat look of the original animated TV specials. There’s also a hint of the plot, which all centers on Charlie Brown’s attempts to meet the little red-haired girl, who just moved to town.
Charlie enlists the help of Snoopy and gets some five-cent advice from Lucy, but nothing helps him. Hopefully, he learns how to talk to her by the end of the film.
Amazingly, this movie is the first time the Peanuts Gang will be seen in a theater. Steve Martino, who co-directed Blue Sky’s adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!, directed the film, with Paul Feig co-producing.
