'Orange is the New Black' Season 3: Top 10 burning questions we need answers for this season

Going into binge-watching Season 3 of Orange is the New Black, there are so many burning questions that we need answers for. Diehard fans might be almost done or even finished with the third season after its June 12 release, but if you’re just starting out, you might identify with my curiosity about the unresolved issues of last season.

Is Vee really dead and did Miss Rosa succumb to cancer or get caught escaping? Will Bennett and a pregnant Daya figure out a way to co-exist in Litchfield together even though he’s a security guard and she’s still a prisoner for the next few years?

These are just some of the questions we were dying to find answers to after the explosive finale of OITNB’s second season and now we’re finally getting answers.

The trailer for the newest season didn’t answer any of these questions for us, if anything it left us more confused. So here are 10 of the most burning questions going into the third season.

10. Is Vee really dead?

Vee Parker, played by actress Lorraine Toussaint, wreaked havoc at Litchfield as soon as she stepped into the camp. As horrible as it is to say, we cheered when Rosa ran her over in the finale. But how can we be sure she’s really dead?

Side note: We got some great comic relief when Rosa quipped, “Always so rude, that one.”

9. What about Miss Rosa, did she get away?

Speaking of Rosa, I want to know if she ended up getting caught and had to return back to Litchfield or if she got to live out her final days as a free woman after finding out she only had weeks to live.

8. Nicky and the heroin

What will happen to Nicky and all of Vee’s heroin she’s hiding? The way I see it is that it can go two disastrous ways – she relapses or she somehow gets herself (or someone else) caught with it.

7. Daya and Bennett

Daya and Bennett have a unique storyline, where they might actually be in love despite all of the crazy things that have transpired between them so far. Daya is pregnant and framed Pornstache for rape in a messed up effort to save Bennett from going to jail for impregnating an inmate.

6. Pornstache’s mom

Speaking of Pornstache, he won’t be returning for Season 3 but his mom (played by Mary Steenburgen) will be involved somehow. In what capacity? She still believes her son raped Daya, so will she be offering her money?

5. Ruby Rose

Who is this gorgeous Ruby Rose from the trailer who gives an infectious wink? And who exactly is she winking at? I have a feeling she will be getting in the way of the Piper-Alex romance.

4. More backstories

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite aspects of the show is learning all of the backstories of these women. It’s interesting to see how their childhood shaped who they are today and what crimes they committed to end up in jail. In a lot of Season 2, the creators of the show set up these characters’ backgrounds but didn’t fully let us know what crimes they committed, though we can make educated guesses for most.

3. Caputo taking over

It’s fairly obvious Caputo will do a better job at running Litchfeild than Natalie Figueroa; all he has to do is not embezzle thousands of dollars from the camp. But how will he do once he takes over for her in what seems like impossible circumstances?

2. Where’s Larry?

With Piper and Alex replacing the Piper-Larry storyline, is Larry really gone this season? We saw him get together with Piper’s best friend Polly but will Piper break down from the predictable Alex drama and call him anyway?

1. Piper and Alex

Back to Piper and Alex, how will Alex react when she finds out Piper had Larry and Polly call her parole officer to get her back in jail? It’s probably a matter of time before they start up their love affair again, but just how long?
