Ryan Seacrest’s Knock Knock Live has been canceled after two episodes. The show failed to pull in enough viewers for Fox.
The show’s premise was to surprise unsuspecting people at their homes by recruiting athletes, singers and actresses to knock on people’s doors and give them the surprise of a lifetime.
It premiered on July 21 with 1.7 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic, Deadline reported. Its lead-in didn’t do much better, with the So You Think You Can Dance 10th anniversary special pulling in a 0.7 rating.
Fox News reports next week, a Last Man On Earth re-run will air in its place. For the future, Fox will air that show and Brooklyn Nine-Nine in Knock Knock Live’s place.
Seacrest hosted and executive produced the show and reunited with American Idol producer Simon Fuller for it.
