J. Crew's first discount store opened yesterday in Dallas.
J. Crew Mercantile is a standalone store that mirrors its J. Crew Factory outlet stores, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Most of the items in the store are marked 30 percent to 40 percent off, with a large selection of clothing and accessories for men, women and children. The accessories include jewelry, shoes and sunglasses.
Mercantile offers the same merchandise as the Factory stores and plans to open more stores in malls, according to Racked.
Shoppers in the area were glad that they were able to shop at J. Crew without driving out of their way to the nearest factory outlet.
"I shop at the Factory store in Allen and this is so much closer for me, plus it has the kids clothes, which Allen doesn't," said shopper Kim Daugherty, who also used a 20 percent off coupon on her order. "My receipt says I saved $134. I got some fabulous accessories!"
The first J. Crew Mercantile store is now open in the Shops at Park Lane in Dallas.
