Lil Wayne just dropped a new album on Tidal.
On the Fourth of July, the "Lollipop" rapper released FWA exclusively on the streaming service, which he is a co-owner of. This was likely Weezy's way of declaring his independence from Cash Money Records, who he currently has a $51 million lawsuit against for delaying the release of his next studio album, Tha Carter V.
FWA stands for Free Weezy Album. The album includes 15 brand new tracks with collaborations from Jeezy, Wiz Khalifa, Cory Gunz and more.
The project was released to hold fans over until Wayne puts out the long-awaited Tha Carter V.
Wayne teased FWA prior to its release. The album's opening track, "Glory," premiered last month on Tidal. Around the same time, he announced at KMEL's Summer Jam, "I just signed a deal with my motherfucking idol Jay Z," according to Billboard.
