Meek Mill earns first No. 1 album with 'Dreams Worth More Than Money'

Meek Mill just earned his first number one album on the Billboard 200 chart with Dreams Worth More Than Money.

The rapper's second studio album, which was released June 30, moved 246,000 album units in its first week, according to Nielsen Music. 215,000 of those units were traditional album sales, whereas the remaining 31,000 are attributed to streaming.

Dreams Worth More Than Money is now the fourth largest opening for an album in 2015, following Drake's mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late (495,000 units), Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly (324,000) and Mumford & Sons' Wilder Mind (231,000).

This week, Mill beat out Miguel for the top spot. Miguel's Wildheart only moved 48,000 units.

Mill's album includes features from his girlfriend Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, The Weeknd and more.

Starting July 10, the music industry is shifting to a global release date for all new releases. Mill's album is the last to hit number one on the current tracking cycle before albums start releasing on Fridays.
