Serena Williams wins Wimbledon for the sixth time

Serena Williams defeated Garbine Muguruza 6-4, 6-4 today in the Wimbledon final.

Williams' win is her sixth Wimbledon title and fourth Grand Slam championship in a row. The tennis star has won 21 Grand Slam titles, only three away from tying the all-time record held by Margaret Court.

Today's game marks the second time that Williams completed what has come to be known as the "Serena Slam" — four Grand Slam titles at the same time. If she wins the U.S. Open next month, she will become the first person to win a calendar-year Grand Slam since 1988 when Steffi Graf did so.

Williams, 33, is the oldest woman to win a Grand Slam title in the Open era.

Today's match ended when Muguruza, a 21-year-old Spaniard, hit a forehand wide. She made a few comebacks throughout the match, but ultimately Williams took the win.

The 2015 U.S. Open starts August 31 and continues until September 13.
