Patrick Stewart confirms Professor X will be in 'Wolverine 3'

Hugh Jackman will be donning the claws as Wolverine one last time, and we're now learning Patrick Stewart will have a significant role in the film as well.

Speaking with Collider, Stewart said that he'll be in the upcoming Wolverine film, and it won't just be a cameo. Professor X will actually be significant to the plot.

"Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance," he said.

Stewart also addressed the rumors that the upcoming film might tackle the Old Man Logan story from the comics, joking that he's looking forward to seeing Hugh Jackman getting old.

"He looks so great," he said. "So I’m hoping to see him covered in prosthetics, you know? And then he’ll make me look better if that’s the case.”

It wasn't clear how much more there'd be of Patrick Stewart's Professor Xavier after Days of Future Past, but luckily fans can look forward to seeing him at least once more. As for Wolverine, Jackman has confirmed this will be his final performance as the character, as we previously reported. The upcoming film will be directed by James Mangold and released in 2017. In addition to that movie, though, Jackman will also be making in appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse, which hits theaters next year.
