Tinder blasts Vanity Fair's negative review on Twitter

Nancy Jo Sales unknowingly crossed a line when she wrote an article about Tinder in Vanity Fair. Tinder took over Twitter yesterday when it posted more than 30 tweets attacking the journalist who criticized their app.

The Vanity Fair article is titled Tinder and the Dawn of the “Dating Apocalypse.” It describes how young adults use the app for random hook ups.

Sales did seem to only interview people who didn’t take the app seriously and were just trying to get the hottest guy or girl.

One guy said, “It’s setting up two or three Tinder dates a week and, chances are, sleeping with all of them, so you could rack up 100 girls you’ve slept with in a year.”

When Tinder saw this article, they were outraged. They accused Sales of not looking at all the facts and doing the proper amount of research.

E! Online reports that Sales did passively aggressively tweet Tinder back asking if journalists needed their okay to write articles about them.

Then, the Tinder Twitter page exploded with facts about their site. They claimed that many people want to create meaningful connections and that there is nothing wrong with the random hook up.

They bring up the point that they help connect people that struggle to find relationships due to thier sexuality or where they live.

Although Sales attempted to laugh off the attack by claiming that her article wasn’t even about Tinder, they still took it very seriously. Tinder vows to keep connecting people and they refused to be torn down by one-sided journalism.
