According to Vibe, Monae made an appearance to sing some of her hit songs, including the song “Hell You Talmbout.”

On her Instagram page, Monae referred to the song as a “vessel,” saying it spoke to the fear that was being put into “our fellow brothers and sisters.” In the song, she speaks the names of many black individuals who have passed away, including Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and Sandra Bland.

The website for the show did post her interviews and other performance segments, however, the performance of “Hell You Talmbout” was not on the site.

The Huffington Post reported she made the Friday appearance with other collaborators from the record label Wondaland to support The Eephus EP.

Monae spoke at the end of her performance saying, “Yes Lord! God bless America! God bless all the lives lost to police brutality. We want white America to know that we stand tall today. We want black America to know we stand tall today. We will not be silenced.”
