‘Imitation Game’ director Morten Tyldum to helm Agatha Christie’s ‘And Then There Were None’

Norwegian director Morten Tyldum will be the latest filmmaker to tackle revered mystery writer Agatha Christie. The director of last year’s The imitation Game will direct a new adaptation of And Then There Were None.

News of the project was first reported by Deadline. The film will be made at 20th Century fox, which picked up the film rights to the novel, which was first published in 1939. The script will be written by Eric Heisserer, who just wrote Story Of Your Life for director Denis Villeneuve.

The producers on the film are 21 Laps Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen, with Hilary Strong. Agatha Christie Productions will also be a producer. Daria Cercek is overseeing for the studio.

And Then They Were None is about 10 strangers who come to Soldier Island and trapped. They are killed one by one, but soon figure out that one of the 10 is the murderer. The story has been adapted into several films, with Rene Clair directing a 1945 version.

Tyldum caught Hollywood’s attention with The Imitation Game, which earned him a Best Director nomination. He is currently working on Passengers, a sci-fi movie with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence. Deadline reports that he is a fan of the novel, so let’s hope his excitement inspires him to make a good mystery.
