‘Star Wars’: Crazy rumor has Hayden Christensen in ‘Episode VIII’

This could just be the craziest Star Wars rumor you will hear... at least this week. There’s a rumor circulating the web that Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, is going to somehow appear in Episode VIII.

The fan site Making Star Wars reported on Monday that they were told that a U.K. team will “begin training” Christensen for some kind of Episode VIII appearance. The site speculates that Christensen might be recruited to play some kind of physical manifestation of Anakin (a clone?), since he probably wouldn’t need training if he is just going to have a cameo as Anakin’s ghost.

In addition, Making Star Wars had some details about Darth Vader’s appearance in Rogue One. Of course, that film takes place while Vader is still alive, so he might still make an appearance. But a source told the site that the film’s prop department only built one Vader chest piece, so it’s possible that Vader only has a cameo in Rogue One.

Christensen can currently be seen in the faith-based film 90 Minutes In Heaven and he did try to make other big films after Revenge came out in 2005. He starred in 2008’s Jumper, but that film wasn’t a hit. Being recruited for another Star Wars film would be a huge boost to his career.

Rian Johnson is already filming Episode VIII, even though The Force Awakens hasn’t even hit theaters yet. TFA opens on Dec. 18.
