‘Star Wars’: Facebook video puts you in the middle of ‘Force Awakens’ speeder chase

We might not know much about Rey, the character Daisy Ridley plays in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but we can already be her, at least on Facebook and for 50 seconds. Thanks to a new Facebook feature, the people behind the Star Wars Facebook page can put us in the middle of Rey’s speeder chase on Jakku.

Facebook announced today that launched 360 Video, which puts viewers in the middle of a scene and allows them to see every angle of a video thanks to special cameras. Several companies posted videos using the feature, but the Star Wars one has to be the most exciting.

The video puts you behind the controls of Rey’s speeder as she zooms around Jakku and around a crashed Star Destroyer. You are being chased by other scavengers, who pass you by. We’ll know exactly why they are chasing her on Dec. 18, when the movie comes out.
