Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton surprised a 10-year old cancer patient fan at his Halloween party.
According to nfl.com Newton heard about the party and decided to crash it with an ice cream truck and brownies.
WCNC interviewed Elijah’s mom who said “As a mom it absolutely melts your heart. It brings tears to my eyes...This has been the hardest battle our family has ever had to go through.” Attendees say Newton’s surprise made Elijah very happy.
The party was brought together by neighbors and dozens of children joined in costume to celebrate Halloween early. Elijah, who is a big Auburn fan where Newton played in college, dressed as the joker.
A twitter trail suggests Newton found out about the event from teammate Colin Cole. The hashtag #PrayersForElijah has begun to spread through social media.
