Fox & Friends co-hosts Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade and Anna Kooiman are not happy with Emily Blunt for her comments about becoming a U.S. citizen.
As we previously reported, Blunt joked to The Hollywood Reporter while at the Toronto Film Festival that after watching the first GOP debate, she came to the conclusion that it was a “terrible mistake” to become a U.S. citizen.
She also talked about it on Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, joking she didn't want to renounce Queen Elizabeth to get her U.S. citizenship.
"You know what? Why don't you leave Hollywood, Calif., and let some American women take on the roles that you're getting because the Americans are watching your movies and lining your pockets,” Kooiman said on Tuesday’s Fox & Friends, E! Online reports.
Doocy even suggested that she did the same thing that the Dixie Chicks did to themselves in 2003 when they criticized President Bush and got a ton of blacklash.
“You know what Emily Blunt just did? She just Dixie Chicked herself,” said Doocy. “She has alienated half the country, and now will think twice about going to one of her movies."
Blunt hasn't responded yet but chances are she'll stay quiet on this one.
