We're seeing a whole lot of TV reboots and sequels lately, and Frankie Muniz wants to know if fans would be interested in one for Malcolm in the Middle.
The actor sent out this tweet asking how cool a Malcolm in the Middle sequel series would be, catching up with the characters in modern times. When asked to clarify if this is something he'd seriously consider, Muniz replied, "just gaging interest... We'll see..."
How fun would "Malcolm In The Mid-life Crisis" be? I wonder what Malcolm and his family would be up to now!

So could it actually happen if fans were interested? A few years ago it might have seemed ridiculous, but when Full House can get a sequel series on Netflix, and when there are sequels to Twin Peaks, The X-Files, Heroes and Coach on the way, why can't Malcolm in the Middle come back? Apparently in the age of Netflix, no show ever actually ends anymore.
Malcolm in the Middle aired on Fox from 2000 to 2006, following a family of six and starring Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek and Bryan Cranston. The availability of Cranston would probably be the biggest obstacle to getting a Malcolm sequel off the ground, as he's had a crazy amount of success since Malcolm and now has plenty of upcoming projects including Trumbo and All The Way. Would he actually want to return to the role of Hal, the character many viewers got to know him as?
Malcolm in the Middle is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
