Jets place Jace Amaro on injured reserve

The New York Jets placed tight end Jace Amaro on season-ending injure reserve on Tuesday.

According to NFL.com, Amaro was placed on injured reserve due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The injury occurred when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder during the Jets first preseason game against the Detroit Lions. He hasn’t practiced since the injury. Amaro will need to have surgery to repair the shoulder.

Amaro was drafted by the Jets last year. He had 38 receptions for 345 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie, according to Fox Sports. In week six he had his best game of the year, with ten receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown.

Amaro being out is a huge blow to the Jets. The Jets had expected him to be a huge part of their offense this season. Jeff Cumberland, Kellen Davis, Arthur Lynch, and Wes Saxton are the current Jets tight-ends.The Jets have also placed defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson on injured reserve.
