The Associated Press noted that Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, who were seated in their usual section, happily shared a kiss when they were captured by the famous ballpark camera. The crowd then erupted in cheers.

It was one of the few things the fans had to cheer about all night as the Braves lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 5-0.

We previously reported that the 39th President of the United States announced last month that he had surgery “to remove a small mass in his liver” and had been diagnosed with cancer. He later revealed that the cancer had spread to his brain.

The 90-year-old said upon hearing the diagnosis that he was surprised he “didn't go into an attitude of despair or anger” and felt “completely at ease."

Carter and his wife have been married for 69 years.
