Kanye West has scheduled a last minute showing of his Adidas collection during New York Fashion Week, which will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The show will take place at noon, which is designer Anne Bowen’s time slot for her to show her Nomad VII by Anne Bown street collection. Bowen will now have to reschedule her show to make room for the Yeezus rapper.
"We have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labor- and commitment-cost to our company. Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks," Bowen told WWD of the inconvenience.
"We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time on the same date as ours."
Bowen also said West knows very well that it “isn’t ethical” to do what he’s doing, also knowing very well that he’s a “media sensation.”
Bowen isn’t the only designer getting knocked out of their time slot, Naeem Khan is scheduled to show during West’s time slot as well.
Fox News reports Bowen has filed a complaint with the Council of Fashion Designers and has reached out to West’s camp to see if another arrangement can be made that satisfies all parties, but so far, no word back.
