Kelly Clarkson cancels Canadian tour to rest vocals

Kelly Clarkson has cancelled the remainder of her tour per doctor’s orders to rest her voice.

The singer, 33, was set to perform across Canada and the UK.

According to CBC News Clarkson released a statement stating “I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates. Unfortunately, my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working to get better as fast as possible”

Clarkson was scheduled to kick off her tour on Oct. 1 in Ottawa. Her Canadian fans have expressed their disappointment with the news on twitter.

After performing nine concerts in Canada, the Grammy award winner was set to fly to the UK for an additional six concerts in November. She also cancelled her remaining US tour dates earlier this month.

Clarkson first experienced vocal problems last her after giving birth and feared she lost her voice for good telling Entertainment Tonight Canada back in February “I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day...I was like “Oh God, I’m not going to be a singer anymore.”

Her Piece By Piece tour was named after her seventh and most recent album released back in February. Her hit single “Heartbeat Song,” peaked at 21 on Billboard's Hot 100.
