Get ready to be slimed because old Nickelodeon shows are coming back.
The Viacom-owned network has already said that it is interesting in reviving its huge library of classic cartoons, which only seems fair since anything else that has to do with the 1990s is in vogue right now. In addition to new projects featuring our favorite characters, we are also getting a whole network devoted to them.
Over the weekend, a teaser for The Splat surfaced on YouTube, featuring classic Nick jingles and scenes from Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, CatDog, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Hey Arnold! and many more. USA Today points out that Nick also launched a website for The Splat, which urges fans to follow its social media accounts for news.
The news comes just days after Nick president of content and development Russell Hicks told Variety that the network does plan on creating specials based on classic Nick shows. He wasn’t specific, but he said that these specials could be used to launch new series.
It’s not clear if these new shows will air on the main Nick or on The Splat. It sounds like it won’t be long until we find out.
Here’s our Top 10 picks for Nick shows that should be revived.
