Pink is 'embarrassed and sad' over VMAs, calls it 'trash'

Pink does not approve of the direction the music industry is heading and she made that quite clear. After watching the MTV Video Music Awards, the singer had a lot to say about it.

Pink wrote that she’s “embarrassed and sad” for the way the show went and she’s also “let down” by the music industry as a whole.

Aside from Tori Kelly, Macklemore, Pharrell and Justin Bieber (“pre-sobfest”) she slammed the VMAs in a private Instagram post Celebuzz published. She deleted her public Instagram page in 2012.

“I felt embarrassed and sad,” she wrote. “And old. We’re getting old. But in all seriousness; I felt sad because music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won’t save any kids life.”

She added it was “hard for this aging pop star to believe.”

Pink also tweeted about the VMAs to her 27 million followers, saying of Kelly that she’s a “fan for life” after being blown away by her performance. She also joked MTV “bought up all dispensaries” before the show.
