Simon Kinberg praises 'Deadpool,' says Fox is already discussing a sequel

Fox's latest superhero film Fantastic Four was a complete bomb, but they should hopefully be able to make up for that with Deadpool. Now Simon Kinberg is heaping praise on the film, and he also revealed some new details about a potential sequel.

In an interview with Collider, Simon Kingberg said that he just recently saw a cut of Deadpool and that it's fantastic.

"It delivers on the promise of the trailer," he said. "We really committed and leaned into it being R-rated. It’s just darker and edgier and weirder in the best way - like Deadpool should be - than any other movie in the genre.”

What about a sequel? Kinberg already said that Fox is talking about a Fantastic Four sequel, and they're apparently already thinking about Deadpool 2 as well. Kinberg noted that they were talking about the sequel to Deadpool while they were making the movie because they hope it will be the first of many.

Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds as a special forces operative who undergoes an experiment to cure his cancer and is turned into a superhero. Deadpool is one of the most foul mouthed comic book characters out there, and so the film will be one of the only R-rated Marvel superhero films ever. Deadpool hits theaters on February 12, 2016.
