Starz developing horror comedy ‘Trapped’ with producers Mila Kunis, Rob Zombie

Starz said today that it is developing Trapped, a half-hour comedy series that will be directed by Rob Zombie. Actress Mila Kunis is also joining as an executive producer.

The project was written by Joey Slamon (Arrested Development) and is set during one night at a wealthy family’s home when they are attacked by a strange cult.

Kunis is executive producing through her Orchard Farm Productions, along with Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov. Zombie will executive produce as well.

“We’re excited to work in partnership with Rob Zombie as well as Mila Kunis and her Orchard Farm Productions associates Susan Curtis, Cami Curtis and Lisa Sterbakov on this horror comedy series,” Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik said in a statement.

Musician-turned-director Zombie has also helmed House of 1,000 Corpses, the 2007 Halloween, 2012’s The Lords of Salem and is finishing 2016’s 31. In June, he was surprisingly hired to direct a movie about Groucho Marx.

As for Kunis, she recently starred in Jupiter Ascending and is still voicing Meg on Family Guy. She was an executive producer on The Angriest Man in Brooklyn, in which she co-starred with Robin Williams. She started Orchard Farm last year.
